Utah 2020 Project is keeping an eye on the 2020 elections.
This Utah 2020 Project is the parent website for the Utah 2020 elections project websites. You will see in each individual site, information that is specifically designed to allow candidates for federal, state, and local offices to inform voters of where the stood on the tax reform bill (SB2001). That bill was passed by the legislature in a special session just before Christmas 2019. That bill was eventually repealed by the legislature in January 2020 after well over 150,000 signatures were collected which meant it would have been put on hold until the citizens could vote on it in November 2020.
You will find the websites under the Utah 2020 Project in the navigation links above. Each page has a description of the site and a link to it. Click on the appropriate tab to find links to the dedicated site with information about the candidates running for Governor, Utah House of Representatives, Utah Senate, federal offices and local offices, in Utah in the 2020 election year.
With the links in the navigation, you can visit pages dedicated to that specific race. Then you can click the Utah 2020 Project link to come back to this page. You can also click the social media links to the left to share this site.
Utah 2020 election candidates were required to respond (via a form) to each of seven questions directly related to the Utah 2019 Tax Referendum. The response allows candidates in running for office in Utah in the 2020 elections cycle a page on our website. In addition, due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) which has made it more difficult for candidates to reach out to the citizens of Utah, each candidate may submit additional information in order to help voters make the best decision possible. You will find this information immediately after the responses to the seven questions. Utah candidates have provided all of the information and it is posted exactly as submitted without any editing by the administrators of this website. Don’t see your candidate or no one is listed in your district? That is because they did not provide the requested information. You are welcome to send them a link to the form.
